Mental Game Tip 6: Stop Worrying about who’s watching you!

“If you start worrying about the people in the stands, before too long you’re in the stands with them.”

–          Tommy Lasorda

For successful execution to occur it’s important to know what is important and unimportant to success. If you are distracted by factors not under your control, such as who is watching you, what others are thinking about your performance, or crowd noise for example you will no longer be centered in the moment.  You will become distracted, lose control, and be unable to execute successfully by using the skills you have direct control over. It is important to only focus on the one or two aspects of your game that are critical to successful execution and the results will take care of themselves. – John Ellsworth
