Sharks lost their mental game in the 3rd period. What happened?
The San Jose Sharks lost their mental game in the 3rd period. Where do they go from here?
“I thought our team looked tired, I thought our team looked sluggish. There are nights when we lose our legs but our minds are still pretty sharp. And that was not the case tonight. I think it started between the ears and worked all the way through the body. We were like dogs chasing on the freeway. We just weren’t catching anybody.”
—Coach Todd McLellan
The Sharks lost their desire to make things happen, plus they were out hustled, out shot, and out maneuvered in the 3rd period. Sure the Canucks are good, but the Sharks seemed shell shocked. They must get back to the basics sticking to their game plan, pay attention to their mistakes, and go after this next game with a mission to dig deep and not be out manned, out played, out hustled, and mentally hammered.
